Garcia Homer in 10th Lifts Otters Over Alleghenys; Monarchs Score 7 in Bottom of 9th and Lose By Run

Pittsburgh (UBAN) - Taj Bradley retired 11 batters on strikeouts as the Chicago Otters defeated

the Pittsburgh Alleghenys in 10 innings by a score of 2 to 0 at PNC Park.

The game was a scoreless tie after nine. Chicago won it in the 10th inning. Maikel Garcia opened up the scoring as he lifted one out of the park for a two run home run. Chicago and Pittsburgh each finished the night with 5 hits.

Jorge Alcala(2-5) got the win allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. Alcala was helped out by Alexis Diaz who recorded his 17th save. Erik Miller(1-3) was the loser in relief.

The Atlanta Chiefs came roaring back in the top of the ninth to spoil the anticipated celebration of the hometown fans. The final score was 9 to 8.

Kansas City was unable to climb back into it after Atlanta went ahead for good in the top of the 6th inning when they tallied 2 runs on 3 hits. The highlight belonged to Mike Yastrzemski who helped quiet the crowd when he bombed a two-run dinger. Atlanta had a total of 12 hits for the game.

The winning pitcher was Patrick Corbin(8-3) who allowed 1 run in 8 innings. Corbin got relief help from Griffin Jax who gained credit for his 15th save. Justin Verlander(1-4) took the loss.
