Browns Slug 5 Homeruns to Run Away From Otters; Sounds Edge Marauders as Birdsong Outduels Suarez

Chicago (UBAN) - In a one-sided affiar at Otter Park the final score was the St. Louis Browns 9, the Chicago Otters 3.

Chicago was unable to climb back into it after St. Louis went ahead for good in the top of the 3rd inning plating 3 runs using 2 hits. Michael Conforto led off the inning for St. Louis when he drew a walk. Pedro Pages was the next batter, but he struck out. Anthony Volpe then singled. One out later, Gleyber Torres came to bat and launched a three-run homer. Chicago out-hit St. Louis 12 to 7, but St. Louis ended up with more runs.

The win went to Aaron Civale(4-3) who allowed 2 runs in 5 innings. Kutter Crawford(5-7) ended up with the loss. He pitched 6 and 1/3 innings and surrendered 3 hits and 3 walks.

St. Louis now has a record of 38-32. With the loss, Chicago has a record of 5-5 lately, 40-31 overall.

Hayden Birdsong(3-6) and Albert Suarez(3-4) treated the Nashville fans to a fine pitching duel at Sounds Field. The Nashville Sounds eventually emerged as victors over the Memphis Marauders by the score of 1 to 0.

Memphis surrendered what proved to be the only run of the contest when Nashville scored in the bottom of the 4th inning. The Memphis bats were silent in the 9th.

Kyle Leahy recorded the save, his 3rd. Nashville now has a record of 35-37. With the loss Memphis now has a record of 35-34.
