Alleghenys Snap Losing Streak; Knights Ride 2 Suarez Homers to Trip Aguilas

San Antonio (UBAN) - The Pittsburgh Alleghenys came in to the game in quite a tailspin, but they were able to snap their 6 game slide and bested the San Antonio Wranglers by a 6 to 3 score at Wranglers Park.

Pittsburgh had 4 runs cross the plate in the 4th inning with the help of 4 hits. The biggest moment was provided by Tyrone Taylor who deflated the crowd as he lifted one out of the park for a two run home run. San Antonio was retired without difficulty in the bottom of the 9th.

Kyle Freeland(6-5) allowed 2 runs in 7 innings, and picked up the victory. Logan Gilbert(4-5) was the losing pitcher. He allowed 3 homeruns in 8 innings of work.

Eugenio Suarez slammed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at El Nido de Aguilas where the Seattle Knights beat the Mexico City Aguilas Doradas in 10 innings 5 to 3.

Both teams were tied at 3 runs apiece after nine innings. Seattle won the hard fought contest in the 10th inning. Suarez began things off when he clubbed a two-run home run. Seattle rapped out 11 hits for the afternoon.

Yuki Matsui(3-2) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing no runs. Carlos Estevez preserved the game for Matsui, recording his his 12th save. The losing pitcher was Jesse Chavez(2-1) in relief. Despite taking the loss, he whiffed 4 batters in 1 and 2/3 innings.
