Miller Wins #11 as Stars Nip Bisons; Marlins Make It Seven Straight

Milwaukee (UBAN) - Bryce Miller came through with a solid 7 and one third innings and center fielder Lane Thomas had 2 base hits as the Milwaukee Stars outscored the Buffalo Bisons 1 to 0.
Miller(11-1) came through with a virtuoso performance against the Buffalo hitters. He allowed only 3 hits and no walks in 7 and 1/3 innings. Miller struckout 9 Buffalo batters. Buffalo had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.
Tommy Kahnle preserved the game for Miller, recording his his 2nd save. Jordan Montgomery(4-4) was charged with the loss. He gave up 1 run and 5 hits in 4 innings.
'We lose our concentration for one pitch, and we lose the game.' Willie Randolph said after the game. 'Maybe now these guys will listen when I say they have to concentrate on EVERY pitch.'
At Marlins Park Grant Holmes(2-2) got the win and the red-hot Miami Marlins shutout the Indianapolis Longhorns 1 to 0.
The game's only run was scored in the 7th inning. Zach Neto cracked a solo homerun. Evan Phillips, after tossing a perfect ninth, was credited with his 8th save.
Blake Snell(6-1) was tagged with the loss. Despite losing, he struckout 12 Miami batters in 6 and 2/3 innings. It was another victory for Miami at Marlins Park. Now their winning streak stands at 7 games.
