Schanuel Leads Lemurs Past Angels in 11; Siri Blast Gives Aguilas Sweep of M's

Vancouver (UBAN) - First baseman Nolan Schanuel had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Vancouver Death Lemurs defeated the Los Angeles Angels in 11 innings by a score of 6 to 5 at Death Lemur Field.

Both teams had scored 4 runs after nine full innings. Vancouver was victorious in the 11th inning. Connor Wong began the Vancouver spurt when he drew a walk. Jeimer Candelario stepped up to the plate and he lashed a single to load the bases. Schanuel then laced a base-knock making Vancouver the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration. Vancouver had 8 hits for the night.

The victory went to Yimi Garcia(3-2) who went 1 inning, allowing 1 run. The loss was charged to Nick Sandlin(1-2) in relief. He surrendered 2 runs and 2 hits without retiring a batter.

Jose Siri cracked a homer and had 3 RBI as the Mexico City Aguilas Doradas beat the Memphis Marauders by a score of 6 to 3.

Mexico City came up with 3 runs in the 6th inning with the help of 3 hits. The highlight belonged to Siri who quieted the home crowd when he rifled a three-run blast. Mexico City out-hit Memphis for the game, 12 hits to 9.

The victory was credited to Charlie Morton(5-6) who went 6 innings, allowing 2 runs. Morton got relief help from Jesse Chavez who gained credit for his 1st save. Mitch Spence(4-4) took the loss. He surrendered 3 runs and 6 hits in 5 innings.

The winning ways continue for Mexico City. They now have a record of 8-2 in recent days. Still in a bad slump, with this loss, Memphis is 2-8 lately and 36-38 on the year.
