Death Lemurs' Stun Saints With 3-Run Rally for Walk-Off; Aguilas Prevail in Wild One in Chicago

Vancouver (UBAN) - Frankie Montas dominated striking out 10 Salt Lake City batters at Death Lemur Field as the Vancouver Death Lemurs staged a comeback win over the Salt Lake City Saints by the count of 4 to 3.

Vancouver had the winning rally in the 9th inning with 3 runs on 2 base hits. Jake Meyers led off and keyed the rally when he was hit by a pitch. Ian Happ next to the plate and he drew a walk. Alejandro Kirk then hit a single bringing in a run. Nolan Schanuel came up and he drew a walk to load the bases. Jeimer Candelario was the next batter, but he struck out. Heston Kjerstad continued the rally and stroked a one-base hit resulting in an exciting win for Vancouver and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. Vancouver managed only 5 hits on the night.

Cade Smith(2-2) went 2/3 of an inning allowing no runs for the win. Tanner Scott(0-2) was the losing pitcher in relief. He pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up 2 hits and 2 walks.

'Now that is what I call fun! I just love baseball, especially games like this, of course,' Ted Lasso offered. 'Everyone at the stadium had a great time - did you see the fans go wild there at the end?!'

The Mexico City Aguilas Doradas and the Chicago Otters locked up in an exciting one-run game at Otter Park. The final score was the Mexico City Aguilas Doradas 9, the Chicago Otters 8.

Mexico City tallied 6 runs in the 6th inning with the help of 3 hits. The key at-bat was by Mookie Betts who helped quiet the crowd when he tripled clearing all three ducks off the pond. Chicago tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.

George Kirby(7-5) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 and 2/3 innings and allowing 6 runs. Camilo Doval earned his 11th save. Adrian Morejon(4-2) ended up with the loss in relief. By giving up 3 runs in 1/3 of an inning his ERA increased from 3.86 to 4.70.

Jim Leyland was in a sour mood after the game. 'Even you guys up in the press box know why we lost this game. We made too many mistakes.'
