Kikuchi Fans 15 as Seals Avoid Sweep in St. Louis; Highlanders Score 3 in 8th to Complete Sweep of W

St. Louis (UBAN) - Yusei Kikuchi whiffed 15 batters as the San Francisco Seals defeated the St. Louis Browns 9 to 6 at Sportsman's Park.

Kikuchi(5-7) pitched well for San Francisco in their victory. He went 7 innings and surrended up 6 hits and 1 walk. For the game San Francisco out-hit St. Louis 16 to 9.

The loss was charged to Ben Lively(7-4). He pitched 1/3 of an inning and surrendered 1 hit and no walks. 'He was really impressive today,' Lively said of his counterpart. 'Our guys were just swinging at air.'

At Babe Ruth Park the New York Highlanders outscored the San Antonio Wranglers 7 to 4.

New York scored the decisive runs in a big bottom of the 8th inning with 3 runs on 3 hits. Shohei Ohtani led off and started the attack as he drew a walk. Ohtani took second on a stolen base. Hunter Stratton then let loose a wild pitch. After an out was recorded, Riley Greene stepped in and he slapped a one-base hit driving in a run. New York continued their aggressive style with another stolen base. David Peralta continued the rally and delivered a base-hit. Tyler O'Neill was next and he laced a single, and an error was also committed, scoring another run. Miguel Rojas then was walked intentionally to load the bases. Trey Lipscomb followed next and he would hit into a force play scoring the final run of the inning. New York managed 11 hits in their victory.

Jacob Webb(3-1) allowed no runs in 2 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the victory. Garrett Cleavinger recorded the save, his 6th. Stratton(1-3) was with the loss in relief.
