Stanton Drives in 7 to Power Aguilas Past Highlanders; Castillo. Perkins Lead Alleghenys to 7th Stra

Mexico City (UBAN) - Giancarlo Stanton slammed 2 homeruns and had 7 RBI as the Mexico City Aguilas Doradas defeated the New York Highlanders by a score of 9 to 8 at El Nido de Aguilas.
Stanton was a one-man wrecking crew. He lofted a three-run 'big-fly' in the 4th inning, launched a three-run homer in the 6th inning and delivered a one-base hit which brought home a run in the 7th inning. The game was a wild affair with the lead changing hands 5 times.
Ryan Yarbrough(3-0) got the win allowing no runs in 2 and 2/3 innings. Sam Moll(4-2) was given the loss in relief. He surrendered 1 run and 1 hit in 1/3 of an inning.
'I've spent a lot of time in the cage and made some adjustments and they've paid off,' Stanton said. 'I just take the same approach up there. I don't overanalyze it. I go up there, see the ball and try to put a good swing on
Blake Perkins slammed a homerun as the seemingly unstoppable Pittsburgh Alleghenys beat the Nashville Sounds by a score of 4 to 2.
Nashville was unable to claim the lead after Pittsburgh went ahead in the 3rd inning scoring one runner. That scoring would be all that was needed. Both teams' bats went to sleep after the 4th inning with no runs scored after that point.
Luis Castillo(6-4) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 and 2/3 innings and allowing 2 runs. Tyler Holton got the save, his 14th. Matt Waldron(3-6) was the loser.
Pittsburgh won for the 7th straight time.
