Kirby K's 13 as Aguilas Doradas Bully Saints; Ohtani Drives in 7 as Highlanders Humble Monarchs

Salt Lake City (UBAN) - George Kirby reeled off a total of 13 strikeouts at Saints Field as the Mexico City Aguilas Doradas beat the Salt Lake City Saints 9 to 0.
Kirby(8-6) escaped virtually unscathed against the Salt Lake City hitters. He surrendered only 2 hits and no walks in 8 innings reducing his ERA from 4.29 to 4.01. Mexico City finished with 7 hits while Salt Lake City ended up with 3.
The losing pitcher was Aaron Nola(4-8). While he was the losing pitcher, he still struck out 9 batters in 6 innings.
Kirby was pleased with his performance. He noted, 'I had good command of all my pitches. Just as important, my location was right on.'
Shohei Ohtani knocked 2 homeruns and had 7 RBI as the red-hot New York Highlanders ballclub embarrassed the Kansas City Monarchs by the count of 11 to 0.
Ohtani had a great day at the plate. He had the crowd cheering his every move. He doubled in the 1st inning, smacked a three-run homer in the 5th inning, cracked a two-run shot in the 7th inning and lined a base-hit which was good for two runs in the 8th inning. New York out-hit Kansas City for the game, 13 hits to 5.
Nate Pearson(4-1) went 2 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the win. Justin Verlander(2-5) was hit with the loss. 'Actually, I didn't feel that comfortable at the plate today' Ohtani said after the game. 'Despite that, I'm happy with the results!
