Longhorns Tame Colts in 12-Inning Thriller; Sluggers Blow 6-Run Lead, Then Rally to Win in 9th

Indianapolis (UBAN) - The Indianapolis Longhorns nipped the Dallas Colts in 12 innings 6 to 5 at Longhorn Stadium in a hard fought contest.
The game was deadlocked at 4 after nine full innings. After Dallas scored a run in the top of 12th, Indianapolis was victorious in the bottom of the 12th inning. Spencer Steer keyed the rally when he drew a walk. Pete Fairbanks then uncorked a wild pitch. Pete Crow-Armstrong then worked the squeeze play to perfection scoring a run. Alex Jackson was a strikeout victim, unable to help out. Jackson Merrill came to the plate and lined a single giving Indianapolis the victory as 25,810 happy fans celebrated wildly. Indianapolis banged out 8 hits on the afternoon.
Bryan Hudson(2-4) got credit for the victory, pitching 1/3 of an inning and allowing no runs. The losing pitcher was Fairbanks(2-6) in relief. He pitched 1/3 of an inning and surrendered 1 hit and 1 walk.
In a good matchup it was the Louisville Sluggers 8, the Buffalo Bisons 6 at Sal Maglie Stadium.
Louisville scored the winning runs in the 9th inning scoring 2 runs using 3 hits. Brendan Donovan led off the inning for Louisville when he slapped a single. Shelby Miller then threw a wild pitch. Ivan Herrera was next to the plate, but was promptly struck out. Kerry Carpenter was up next and he
doubled plating a run. Wilyer Abreu came to the plate and doubled scoring the final run of the inning. Louisville totaled 13 hits on the night.
The winning pitcher was Keegan Akin(5-2) who allowed no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. Akin was helped out by Ryan Helsley who recorded his 25th save. Miller(5-4) was hit with the loss in relief. He pitched 2/3 of an inning allowing 2 hits and no walks.
