Saints Turn Four Solo HRs into Win Over Indy; Betts - 5 Hits, 2 HRs - Flaherty 13 K's as Aguilas Sw

Indianapolis - UBAN) - Matt Olson rocketed 2 homeruns at Longhorn Stadium as the Salt Lake City Saints beat the Indianapolis Longhorns 4 to 2.

Salt Lake City came up with 2 runs in the top of the 5th inning. Jose Caballero started the scoring when he clubbed a solo home run. One out later, Julio Rodriguez dug into the batters box next, but he struck out. Olson then smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly'. Both teams totaled 6 hits on the night.

James Paxton(1-2) allowed 2 runs in 5 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the victory. Tanner Scott recorded the save, his 23rd. Carlos Rodon(9-4) was hit with the loss. He allowed 4 homeruns in 5 and 2/3 innings of work.

With this win, Salt Lake City has a 48-47 record. They have been 6-4 lately. With the loss, Indianapolis has a record of 6-4 lately, 62-34 overall.

Jack Flaherty retired 13 batters on strikeouts and Mookie Betts knocked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at El Nido de Aguilas as the Mexico City Aguilas Doradas beat the Vancouver Death Lemurs 13 to 6.

Betts was spectacular at the plate. He ripped a solo home run in the 1st inning, bombed a two-run dinger in the 3rd inning, ripped a base-knock in the 4th inning, hit a single in the 6th inning and delivered a one-base hit in the 7th inning. Mexico City provided plenty of action in the 3rd inning with 4 runs on 5 hits. Vancouver threatened in the 9th but Mexico City was able to put down the rally.

The winning pitcher was Flaherty(10-3) who allowed 1 run in 8 innings. Joey Estes(2-12) was charged with the loss. He served up 3 homeruns in his 2 and 1/3 innings.

Flaherty was jubilant in the hometown clubhouse, 'It was a lot of fun out there. The fans gave me a lot of support as did my teammates. We got the victory and I'll sure take 13 strikeouts anytime!'
